Espresso Bar and Roastery News
Time flies when you’re having fun…
It also flies when you’re making coffee and trying to launch a coffee roasting operation as well.
Our Espresso Bar has been open for 10 months now and we are so happy with the results aesthetically, functionally and culturally. Our customer base and regulars are truly a blessing and we really do love getting to know everyone’s names, coffee and then through that, their lives. We really feel blessed to be able to be the “third space” for so many as they transition from home to work / appointments / errands etc. A short pitstop. A breath. Time to regroup. Catch up. Or just savour a cup of delicious coffee before you hit the day running.
What to expect?
Honestly, it’s a small space with limited seating which can force things to be a little intimate. That being said, if you can snag one of the couches, it makes for a very relaxing and cozy experience, especially with a friend.
Our coffee…
We rotate through our 3 espresso blends for milk based drinks and then a single origin for black espresso. We also serve filter and cold brew using our single origins that are more suited to drinking just black.
Although we aren’t doing the usual avo on toast, we do offer some great quick breakfast and brunch options including toasties, croissants and chia bowls.
Coffee for home is a big part of what we do as well. We are always ready to help with any questions about our coffee, brewing methods or what equipment to buy. We love hearing success stories with coffee making at home and our future Training Hub will also help facilitate the spread of specialty coffee knowledge within our community.
The Roastery
The purpose of the roastery isn’t just for the production of our coffee, but also to be a space for learning, discussion and shared passion. We aim to provide awesome free public cupping sessions, training classes and fun events for the whole coffee community. We can’t wait to launch these later in the year. We purchased our roaster early last year and are hoping to have it installed and running in the next few months.
